Rise of the Guptas: the Magadha Empire
Between the Fall of Aryas and the Rise of the Sons of Maurya, there was a time undreamed of... a time of legends and high adventure! ...when the Brave could build a kingdom by his own hands... and that story shall be told. From

Magadha (Sanskrit: मगध) formed one of the sixteen Mahājanapadas (Sanskrit "Great Countries") or regions in ancient India. The core of the kingdom was the area of Bihar south of the Ganges; its first capital was Rajagaha (modern Rajgir) then Pataliputra (modern Patna). Magadha expanded to include most of Bihar and Bengal with the conquest of Licchavi and Anga respectively,[1] followed by much of eastern Uttar Pradesh. The ancient kingdom of Magadha is mentioned in the Ramayana, Mahabharata, Puranas. It is also heavily mentioned in Buddhist and Jain texts. The earliest reference to the Magadha people occurs in the Atharva-Veda where they are found listed along with the Angas, Gandharis, and Mujavats as despised peoples. Two of India's major religions started from Magadha; two of India's greatest empires, the Maurya Empire and Gupta Empire, originated from Magadha. These empires saw advancements in ancient India's science, mathematics, astronomy, religion, and philosophy and were considered the Indian "Golden Age". The Magadha kingdom included republican communities such as the community of Rajakumara. Villages had their own assemblies under their local chiefs called Gramakas. Their administrations were divided into executive, judicial, and military functions.
Bharat... land of dreams and legends, blessed by the Gods of the
Mahabharata. They came from the North centuries ago, with the Sons of Arya, bringing civilization and knowledge: writing, metal works, the wheel, irrigation, and all that was needed to build an Ancient Empire on these rich lands.
Emerging from the Bronze Age, a new power has risen in
Bharat. Ruled by the
Pradyota dynasty, the Magadha Empire is not a City-State anymore. From the holy city of Varanasi, blessed by Shiva himself and the Tears of the Ganja river, they have subdued many ancient cities and communities of
Bharat.

It's a new era for Humanity, the era of Empires: far away, beyond the western mountains, Persia is rising too... the Sons of Cyrus will take the West, but Bharat will remain for Magadha.
The new God King of Magadha has gathered his armies to unite all the City-states of Bharat in one mighty realm. His troops conquered the city-state of
Bhraukochka by smashing their wooden walls with Elephants.

The Magadha Army rush

Magadh troops invade the City.

The Elephants crush the enemy javeliners.
The central city-state of
Bagh has also fallen after a harsh resistance.

The rebel hindus last defense.

Our standard finally rises in central
Bharat too.

In 553 BC, the young Prince's army invaded the great southern jungle to subdue the native Dravidian tribes. These savage barbarians are a constant threat to our cities and they must obey the God King's rule or be smashed! Deep in the south, our Prince met a vast gathering of all Dravidian tribes and crushed their tribal alliance after a bloody battle.

The Prince's Army, his Guards up front the Elephants and Javelineers.

The Dravidian tribal warlord is dead! Our arrows are deadly,
Krishna himself guides them!
After subduing the jungle, Magadha had a time of peace and development, but soon enough the call of
Durga goddess of War, was heard again and our army went west and crossed the Desert. We reached a curious sea port established by Western strangers. They had Indian troops but their rulers were different: white people from
Parsa, and even travellers and merchants from the other side of the world. They called themselves
Hellens. No matter what, they too had to submit to our might.

The hellenic mercenary cavalry and his foreign captain are crushed and trampled by our Elephants.
