For the historians on the Rise of Persian Team, I recommend that you read the book History of the Persian Empire by A.T. Olmstead. It covers the Achaemenian dynasty, from its beginnings, where you guys set the Rise of Persia Mod, to its end ant the hands of Alexander. It has some interesting information such as that the Persians did not own slaves, and has some interesting information about Alexander. Speaking of slavery, I think that you should give the Persians a special option after they conquer a settlement, like what they did for the Spartans in that new mod about 300, to show the tolerance of the Achaemenians. It also has some maps, which might prove useful, and it also talks about some ancient peoples in the beginning of the book which might give you ideas for potential factions. It is a long book (524 pages, not counting the index) and is heavy book to read, so keep that in mind

Thanks SBA but we've already covered a huge amount of academic work when we put together the Persian faction.

What did you have in mind for conquest options?

We could change 'Enslave' to 'deport' and 'excecute' to 'sack.'

The Persians are known to have massacred cities (Opis) as well as deport populations (Paeonians) to be part of forced labour projects. Which was pretty much state controlled slavery.

Well I was thinking for Parsa, you should change the ensalve option to free slaves, which can increases the happiness level of settelment, and maybe you should change the occupation option so that it will provide a positive affect on the settelments happiness level, instead of doing nothing. And you should give the Persians a bonus to the happiness of their settlements for preserving the culture of its conqured cities, unlike in the original RTW which penalized you for keeping the buliding of other factions who have a different culture than your faction does. I mean Cyrus is well known for how he let the people he conqured to worship their gods, and preserved their cultures.
