Donations + Release Schedule

Dear Rise of Persia fans,

The last few years we have been maintaining the Riseofpersia.com website out of our own pockets, which costs about $100,- per year. In late December, we are supposed to pay the server bill of $90 so we can keep running this website to late December 2010. Are you willing to donate a small sum of money to us, to help us keep the website up and running? If you are, you can do this through Paypal, on our front page (http://www.riseofpersia.com)

At the same time, I have to admit the last few months haven't been the most productive from my side, as I've been busy writing my B.Sc thesis. Late November I finally hand in though, and after that we will get the release of ROP v3.0 all ironed out and ready for release. We're aiming for an early 2010 release (Jan/Feb). Still no exact date yet though!

As you might have noticed, Riseofpersia.com has been completely revamped over the last month or two. We have changed to using Joomla! and have installed a great deal of add-ons for extra functionality. One of the things is that it is now possible to write comments on pretty much all content on the website, and that you can do this by simply logging in with your existing username and password, or registering yourself first.

The forum and the website have been linked together in such a way that logging in goes synchronized - if you're logged in on the forums, you can post on the website too. If you log in on the website, you're also logged in on the forums. We have done that so it is more easy to let us know which parts of our website could require improvement. Also, it's just fun to be able to comment on pictures in our new Gallery, which has been populated with many pictures from old and more recent previews and screenshots. If you have any special requests, let us know!

Of course we're also working hard on our upcoming release, ROP v3. Soon we will publish previews for some of the new features in the latest instalment. In the mean time, wish us luck and enjoy the most recent release, ROP v2.22 ;)

Rise of Persia (ROP) is a modification for Creative Assembly's award-winning strategy game Rome: Total War (2004).
Founded in 2005, this mod has been in development for well over two years, which has led to a series of 'Public Betas' so far, ROP v2.22 being the latest instalment. ROP v3 is well under development, though a solid release date isn't there yet.
